Why do it?

From a recent survey (Mar 2007) it was highlighted that almost half of all small businesses in the UK have suffered some form of cyber attack. Forty-four per cent of SMEs have been a victim of online crime, and only five per cent of SMEs have access to dedicated IT support to help manage security issues.

Approx 60 per cent of those organisations questioned as part of the survey said that their business would grind to a halt if their IT system failed due to a cyber attack. Of those companies that had experienced online crime, almost a fifth (19 per cent) admitted they lost money as a result of downtime.
